Narconon Stone Hawk has been trying to settle with me since November
17, 2006. Before this date Per Wickstrom made a verbal offer of $5,000
to me. Of course I refused.
On November 17, 2006 Stone Hawk attorney contacted me by letter to
entertain a resolution wherein both parties would enter into a mutual
release in exchange for payment of $7,500.
I contacted some legal advice and this is what I came up with:
I understand that Stone Hawk incurs some cost during the 18 days stay
at the Center. I understand that the Detox part of the program cost
$3,500. Room and board is approx. $200 a day. An 18 day stay equals
$3,600 and the cost of detox equals $3,500 for the combine costs of
$8,100 of incur cost.
The total cost that I paid for the program is $23,500. Subtract Stone
Hawk cost and the total of my refund should be $16,400.
I thought this is something I could live with. I wasn't pleased with
it but I could live with it.
On December 5, 2006 Stone Hawk attorney contacted me by letter to tell
me that Stone Hawk refused my offer and would be willing to compromise
and refund $10,500 in full settlement of all claims.
That was like slapping me in the face!!!!
I sent a Certified Letter to [Scientology owner/operatpr] Clark Carr, Per Wickstrom and Stone Hawk
attorney stating in part;
. " I also signed a document that says this is a 3 to 6 month rehab
program, which I clearly did not receive. I am interested in receiving
a full refund.
The total cost that I paid for the program is $23,500. We also have
an additional $1,418.00 in hospital bills that we still owe for the
abuse my son incurred while he was in your Detox program. The cost of
the trip to Michigan to get my son after you dropped him off at the
local motel with $10.00."
In other words I'm interested in getting a full refund.
