FORWARD: Cheeseboro once worked in a New York State Prison on Staten
Island so perhaps that's where she learned to lie. Nothing she says
about L. Ron Hubbard, the Scientology crime syndicate's Narconon or
Criminon scams is at all evidenced in any way.
Most of what's known about Scientology's "Criminon" fake front
has been collected and placed into the
Reprogramming criminals into
Scientology criminals web site. We find that Scientology's
"Criminon" fake front is more wishful thinking that actual
successful fraud. Scientology's "Narconon" fraud is much
more successful as a fake front for the notoriously criminal cult
than their "Criminon" fake front.
From: "Feisty" <sunny@skytoday.com>
Not unusual that the woman worked in the New York Corrections Dept for
a long time but has no information about Criminon ever being used there.

Something Can Be Done About Crime
The debate about parole has taken front stage in many communities
as parolees continue to commit repeat offenses. As a retired state
prison captain who spent two decades in the system, I feel that
the problem is not the parole system but the prisons which do not
rehabilitate criminals, and actually just create better ones.
With increasingly more heinous crimes hitting our headlines, crime
victims, lawmakers and other citizens are taking a
lock-them-up-and-throw-away-the-key stance. The basis of the current
system is that if they can be punished enough, they will reform.
With recidivism rates showing that two-thirds of inmates released
are rearrested within three years, it is clear that this thinking
is flawed.
Author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, whose methods are used
in criminal reform programs around the world,
Likewise Scientology's "criminal reform programs" are
non-existant and certainly the crackpot notions were never used in
any New York State Prison. Scientology doesn't have any "criminal
reform programs."
wrote in 1938 that "the individual man thinks of a cell simply
as a place where the criminal will be held incommunicado until he is
finally reborn. It rarely occurs to this individual man that he is
actually fostering the practice of placing this one criminal in the
society of criminals."
I have seen this as experienced, older inmates eagerly share their
criminal expertise with first time offenders entering the prison
system, resulting in a more knowledgeable criminal.
Mr. Hubbard saw that the key to reforming criminals was
"establishment of the criminal's self respect." Education
is the first step toward helping inmates regain their self respect
as 69% of inmates nationally cannot read or write. Studies and
statistics also show that those inmates who managed to get their
education in jail do not return to prison - they are now employable
and have the basic skills they need to survive legitimately.
Yet, many corrections educational programs have been cut back.
Instead of skills that can rehabilitate, in the current system
prisoners are learning new ways to commit crime, and are then
released into the community worse than ever. (Incidentally,
according to U.S. News and World Report, 95% of inmates will
reenter our communities.) Addressing illiteracy in our prisons
will bring about a lower recidivism rate and greater parole
successes.
Ms. Cheeseboro is a retired New York State Prison Captain from Staten
Island. She has since retired to devote her time to education.
Cheeseboro currently runs an office of the Hollywood Education and
Literacy Project (H.E.L.P.) in Harlem, New York.

No, that's incorrect. The "current thinking" is that if
you lock them up they can't comitt crimes against honest society.
There is no notion of reformation past a certain age of the criminal.
Reformation attempts are generally made when the convict is young to
try to steer the person away from crime however past a certain age
it's understood that any effort to reform is almost certain to fail
so prisons become simply a place to store criminals to keep them out
of society for a time.
Massive lies. L. Ron Hubbard was a massive criminal whose exploits
can be reviewed in Bare-faced Messiah
and whose history is well known. The suggestion that he was some kind
of humanitarian is a profoundly stupid lie given the wealth of
information available on the internet which proves otherwise.
And that's also wrong... Not surprising since Hubbard was a criminal
himself who suffered from
mental problems and who was a drug
addict. In any event the notion that nobody but Hubbard
"discovered" the fact that prison is basically a training
facility for criminals is, well, obviously stupid. The Scientology
crime syndicate likes to demand that their mad messiah L. Ron Hubbard
was the first to discover the obvious.
And Scientology's public relations efforts do nothing to educate
people. The Scientology crooks claimed that they had helped to
educate some three million children in Africa after the criminal
enterprise was exposed in
Time Magazine
which accurately described Scientology as a global ruthless scam.
It was proven that the claim of educating African children was a
another pathetic lie
that the criminal enterprise had probably hoped nobody could check
out and debunk.
In fact teaching prisoners to read and write is step #1 in getting
them out of committing crimes. Step #2 is to teach them skills to
get them employment. Scientology does nothing to educate anyone in
or out of prison; the criminal enterprise is only interested in the
money and the public relations claims they can make to try to
convince people who don't know better that their mad messiah's
insane notions are some how used out in the real world. All the
available evidence shows that Scientology's claims are lies.
Feisty then does some homework and uncovers information about this
Cheeseboro character.
